Chronic bronchiectasis is a respiratory disease that causes the bronchial tubes to irreversibly dilate and thicken. This condition impairs airway clearance and causes recurring infections. An overview of the causes, signs, and treatment options for bronchiectasis is given in this abstract.There are several different fundamental causes of bronchiectasis, such as immunodeficiency, inhalation of irritants, post-infection sequelae, and hereditary factors.
